Lance Corporal Robert R Greenslade

Robert Raymond Greenslade was the son of Frederick and Lily Greenslade, of Willesden, Middlesex, he enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.

Lance Corporal Greenslade successfully completed his glider training and was attached to 12th (Airborne) Battalion, Devonshire Regiment, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

L/Cpl Greenslade was killed in action on 3 July 1944, aged 19, and was buried in Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
