Corporal Robert James Lyons, husband of Olive Audrey Lyons, of Wythenshawe, Manchester, served with 11th Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Corporal Lyons died on 20 September 1944, aged 30 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, near Arnhem.
