Private Robert C Daniells

18 Mar 1919 - 19 Jun 1944

Robert Cecil Daniells was the son of Frank and Anna Barnham (Grace) Daniells, of Rowde, Devizes, Wiltshire, he was a Bricklayer and enlisted in the Wiltshire Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.

Private Daniells successfully completed glider training and was posted to 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy Landings).

Pte Daniells was killed in action on 19 June 1944, aged 25, and is commemorated on the Bayeux Memorial to the missing.
