Staff Sergeant Richard William West

Staff Sergeant Richard William West, son of Elisebeth Ethel West, of Westbourne, Sussex, served with 2nd Wing, Glider Pilot Regiment. He took part in the glider insertion to the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

Staff Sergeant West died of wounds on 6 October 1944, aged 21 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
