Private Richard W Storey

Private Richard William Storey was born in 1920 to Wallace and Alice Storey of Idle, Yorkshire.

Private Storey volunteered for The Parachute Regiment and successfully completed his parachute training at Ringway on 24 January 1943. He was noted as an 'above average performer' and having 'good self-control'. He was then posted to 4th Battalion, Parachute Regiment.

He died on 9 April 1944, aged 24 years old. He is now buried at Cassino War Cemetery, Italy.
