Richard Lawrence Robinson was the son of Peter and Ellen Robinson, of Birkenhead. He enlisted in the Royal Army Service Corps and volunteered for Airborne forces.
Driver Robinson successfully completed parachute training on course number 55A at RAF Ringway. His course report stated “Very good on ground training, and good jumper. Excellent on fan.” He was posted to Airfield Platoon, attached to 1 Platoon, 250 (Airborne) Light Composite Company, Royal Army Service Corps, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).
Dvr Robinson was killed in action on 26 September 1944, aged 24, and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
