Private Reginald A Clinton

Reginald Arthur Clinton was the son of Mrs W T Burley, of Perranwell, Truro, Cornwall, he enlisted in the Hampshire Regiment and volunteered for Airborne forces.

Private Clinton successfully completed parachute training on course number 78 at RAF Ringway from 14 to 24 August 1943. His course report stated “Very good performance throughout the course”. He was posted to HQ 3 Parachute Brigade, The Parachute Regiment, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Pte Clinton was killed in action on 19 June 1944, aged 24, and was buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
