Reginald Charles Bruce was the son of James and Maud Bruce, of Middlesex. He enlisted in the Middlesex Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.
Sergeant Bruce successfully completed parachute training and also Glider Pilot training and was posted to F Squadron, The Glider Pilot Regiment, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).
Sgt Bruce was killed in action on 25 September 1944, aged 23, and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the Missing.
