Reg Dunning enlisted into the General Service Corps before being posted to The South Lancashire Regiment.
Pte Dunning volunteered for airborne forces in May 1945 when he joined the Glider Pilot Regiment.
In October 1946 Sgt Dunning transferred to 317 (Airborne) Field Security Section, 6th Airborne Division serving in Palestine.
Sgt Dunning was demobbed in 1948.
