Corporal Raymond A Hudson

Raymond Archibald Hudson was the son of George William and Sarah Hudson; adopted son and nephew of Mr D. E. Tomlin, of Rushden, Northamptonshire. He enlisted in the Royal Engineers and volunteered for Airborne Forces.

Corporal Hudson successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway and was posted to 6th (Airborne) Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps, and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Cpl Hudson was killed in action on 30 March 1945, aged 22, and was given a field burial at Coesfeid, Germany, and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 29 April 1947.
