Private Raymond G Gosney

Raymond George Gosney, the son of Mr M. G. and Mrs Gosney, of Southall, Middlesex, enlisted into the Middlesex Regiment, and then volunteered for the airborne forces.

Private Gosney attended parachute course 28 at RAF Ringway from 21 to 28 September 1942 and was posted Mortor Platoon, 1st Battalion, the Parachute Regiment and took part in Operation Torch in North Africa.

Pte Gosney was Killed in Action on 8 March 1943, age 20. He is commemorated on the Medjez-El-Bab memorial.
