Trooper R. W S Bell

Trooper R W S Bell served with the Life Guards. He began his military career in Junior Service with the Royal Armoured Corps in 1965. After two years he joined the Life Guards, and served two years before transferring to No 1 (Guards) Independent Parachute Company.

During service with Guards Parachute Coy, he took part in tours to Northern Ireland in a six-year spell, before returning to his parent regiment in 1975. He served with the Life Guards until retirement in 1980, earning the UN Medal after deployment to Cyprus in 1978.

He remains active in the veteran community, as part of the Guards Parachute Association.
