Lance Corporal Phillip Poulton served with 9th Independent Parachute Squadron RE from late 1960s until 1975.
Exercises included Germany, Denmark, Kenya, Hong Kong and Canada.
He undertook three tours of Northern Ireland and a six month United Nation tour in Cyprus.
