Junior Para Philip Keetley died, aged 16 years, on 16 March 1972. Cause of death unknown.

At boxing in the Army Individual Championships of our nine entries the following all became Junior Army Champions in their weights J/Inf McGill, Hardy, Wright, Keetley and Smythe. The tragic death of Philip Keetley in March was a loss to all. As well as being a very likeable and promising soldier, he had boxed for England Juniors four times and was a National Schoolboy Champion before joining.
