Corporal Peter Pushman

Peter Pushman was the son of Bert and Elizabeth Pushman and husband of Sarah Charlotte Pushman, of Sandford-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. He enlisted into the Royal Artillery, and volunteered for airborne forces.

Corporal Pushman successfully completed his glider training, and was posted to D Company, 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Cpl Pushman was killed in action on 22 September, aged 28, and was given a field burial on the Hemelse Berg estate, Oosterbeek and was re-interred to Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery on 28 August 1945.
