Lieutenant-Colonel Peter Kirkbride

Peter Kirkbride was commissioned in March 1974 into the Royal Corps of Transport (RCT) after passing out of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

He completed a parachute course in 1976, after passing P Company, and was attached to B Coy, 2 PARA, from August 1976 to May 1977 as a platoon commander (in those days all RCT Young Officers were made to undertake a 6 month infantry attachment).

Peter subsequently served as Officer Commanding 63 Airborne Sqn RCT in 5 Airborne Bde Logistic Battalion from 1990-92 in Aldershot and retired from the Royal Logistic Corps in 2004.
