Corporal Peter Headland

19 Apr 1945

Peter Headland was the son of Ernest James Headland and Mabel Headland, of Bedford.

He successfully completed his parachute training on the 27 February 1943. It was noted that Corporal Headland was "Very good on landings"

He was then posted to 1 (Airborne) Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles and served on Op Overlord, the Ardennes, Op Varisty and the Advance to the Baltic.

He was killed on the 19 April 1945 and is now buried in Hanover War Cemetery, Germany.
