Peter David Jones, the son of Peter and Ethel Jones, and husband of Edna Jones, of Bredbury, Cheshire, vollunteered for airborne forces in 1945.

He successfully completed his parachute training on 13 April 1945 and it was noted that he was 'Keen, fine nerve control'.

Private Jones was posted to the Reserve Battalion before being transferred to 4th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment and served in Palestine.

He died on 6 January 1946 and is now buried at Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel.
