Rifleman Percy R Conyers

Percy Roy Conyers was the son of George Henry and Maud Beatrice (Briscombe) Conyers, of Smethwick, Staffordshire, he enlisted in the General Service Corps, and volunteered for airborne forces.

Rifleman Conyers successfully completed glider training and was posted to 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Rfn Conyers was killed in action on 1 April 1945, aged 19, and was given a field burial at Greven and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 23 May 1947.
