Patrick James Mullins was the son of Mary Mullins, of Lisburn, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, he enlisted in the Royal Ulster Rifles and volunteered for airborne forces.
Rifleman Mullins successfully completed glider training and was posted to 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).
Rfn Mullins was killed in action on 8 June 1944, age 20, and was given a field burial at Longueval and was re-interred to Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France, on 8 June 1945.
