Lieutenant Norman V Maxwell-Adams

Lieutenant Norman Vere Maxwell-Adams was the son of Dr Daniel Vere Maxwell-Adams and Edith Anne Maxwell-Adams, and husband of Hilda Mary Maxwell-Adams, of Hunstanton, Norfolk. He served with D Squadron, 13 Flight, Glider Pilot Regiment and took part in the glider insertion to the Battle of Arnhem.

He went to the Battle as part of the 1st Lift, but drowned on 18 September 1944, aged 27 years old. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Memorial, at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, near Arnhem.
