Private Norman Scott

Norman Scott was born in Ashington, Northumberland in 1927. His parents were Henry Wilson Scott and Wilhemina Scott.

He was a member of the Durham Light Infantry before volunteering for the airborne forces. He conducted his parachute jump instruction at RAF Ringway on Course 128. This course ran from 6 to 23 August 1944. His Instructor noted this about Norman's performance during his training "Average performer, good stick man" 

After passing this training he was posted to MMG Platoon, 13th Parachute Battalion.

Norman was killed in action in the Ardennes on 4 January 1945, aged just 18.  Norman was buried in a temporary grave in Bure then later buried at Hotton War Cemetery in Belgium.
