Private Norman O Weaver

Norman Oliver Weaver was the son of Edward and Rose Weaver, of Sheffield. He enlisted in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.

His brother, William H E Weaver, 294 Field Company, Royal Engineers, died of wounds on 12 August 1944, aged 29, between the coast and Caen, following the Normandy landings.

Private Weaver successfully completed his parachute training at RAF Kabrit, Egypt, and was posted to 10th  Battalion, The Parachute Regiment and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Pte Weaver was killed in action on 25 September 1944, aged 25, and was given a field burial in a group of graves in a field in the Klein Amerikaweg area, Oosterbeek, and was reinterred to Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery on 31 October 1945.
