Neil Parkin joined Airborne Forces as a Territorial volunteer with 44 Parachute Ordnance Field Park, Royal Army Ordnance Corps (V) in April 1974, for four years.
He went on to serve with the Motor Transport(MT), HQ Company of 10 PARA from October 1978, before joining D Company, 4 PARA in April 1981 for three years.
