Driver Morton T Ayers

10 Aug 1944

Morton Thomas Ayers was the son of James and Emily Ayers and the husband of Ellen Ayers, of Bushey, Hertfordshire. He enlisted into the Royal Army Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.

Driver Ayers successfully completed his parachute training at RAF Ringway and was posted to 224 Parachute Field Ambulance and took part in operation Overlord (Normandy Landings).

Dvr Ayers was killed in action on 10 August 1944, aged 29, and was buried in Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
