Michael Maurice Quinn enlisted at Aberdeen into The Junior Parachute Company (JPC) in August 1965.

Two years later after passing P Company (Coy) with 314 Platoon he was posted to A Coy, The 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment and went to Patrols Coy in Malta in 1969.

Corporal Quinn spent two years at Infantry Junior Leaders Battalion from 1978.

In 1980 Sergeant Quinn went to as a Permanent Staff Instructor (PSI) D Coy 4 PARA (V) where he was the Quartermaster until 1984.

Having served for over 24 years, Warrant Officer 2 Quinn left the regiment in 1989 after spending three years with 1 and 3 PARA.

During his military service WO2 Quinn saw active service on numerous tours of Operation Banner in Northern Ireland and in the Falklands Islands during Operation Corporate.

Tours and exercises include; Belize, Canada, Cyprus, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Malta, Singapore, Turkey and the USA.
