Brigadier Matthew P Lowe MBE RCDS

Matthew Lowe attended Sandhurst from 1984 -1985.  He was a Pl Comd in 1 PARA and at the Depot in Aldershort, and then the RSO 3 PARA in Northern Ireland.  Matthew served on exchange with 3 RAR in Australia as a Coy 2IC and the Air Operations Officer, before being a Pl Comd at Sandhurst and OC P Coy at Catterick.

After Staff College he served as DCOS 5 AB Bde including the Kosovo entry operation, and as OC A Coy 1 PARA including Op BARRAS. In recognition of this work Matthew was awarded an MBE.  After a tour as a member of the DS at the Joint Staff College he led the 16 Air Asslt Bde Advance Party and LO group during TELIC ONE, taking over as CO 3 PARA in theatre and then taking the Bn to NI.

As a full Colonel he completed a tour in the HQ of the ATRA, was the PJHQ SBLO in Pakistan, and attended RCDS.  As a Brigadier he was the DComd London District druing the 2012 Olympics, the Dir Pers Ops in Army HQ, and his last job in the Army was as the DComd Cadets in HQ RC. He retired from regular service in 2018 and became the Chief of Staff of the Forces Pension Society.

He is the current chair of The Airborne Assault Museum.
