Private Leslie F Bunton

Leslie Frederick Bunton was born and lived in East London, he enlisted in the Devonshire Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.

Private Bunton successfully completed glider training and was posted to 12th (Airborne) Battalion, Devonshire Regiment, and took part in operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Pte Bunton was killed in action on 24 March 1945, aged 29, and was given a field burial at Hamminkeln and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 10 April 1947.
