Private Leonard Riley

Private Leonard Riley, son of Thomas E and Margaret Riley, of Warrington, Lancashire, served with 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord. 

He originally served with the King's (Liverpool) Regiment before he joined the 151 in India. He went to Normandy as part of The 7th Bn.

Private Riley died on 6 June 1944, aged 29 years old. It is not known where he died, however he was finally laid to rest 30 June 1944 at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
