Gunner Leonard C Underwood

Gunner Leonard Cornelius Underwood was the son of Leonard Samuel and Elsie May Underwood and husband of Joyce Gwendoline Underwood, of Leicester. He served with 1st Airlanding Anti-Tank Battery, Royal Artillery.

He took part in the glider insertion to the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden. He died on 21 September 1944, aged 23 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
