Lance Corporal Laurence Cervi

Laurence Cervi, son of Gladys Cervi, of Manchester and husband of Margaret Cervi, of Southrey, enlisted into The Border Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.

Lance Corporal Cervi successfully completed his Glider training and was posted to 1st (Airborne) Battalion, the Border Regiment.

He took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

L/Cpl Cervi died on 18 September, aged 20. He is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial, for those with no known grave.
