Bombardier Kenneth S Rodwell

Kenneth Sargent Rodwell was the son of Ernest and Ethel Florence (Sargent) Rodwell; husband of Peggy Lilian (Best) Rodwell, of Bournemouth, Hampshire. Married July 1941, Bournemouth, Hampshire. He enlisted in the Royal Army Service corps and volunteered for Airborne Forces.

Bombardier Rodwell successfully completed glider training and was posted to 53 (The Worcestershire Yeomanry) Airlanding Light Regiment, Royal Artillery, and took part in Operation Overlord (D Day landings).

Bdr Rodwell was killed in action on 6 June 1944, aged 23, and is commemorated on the Bayeux Memorial to the missing.
