Major Kenneth H Donnelly

Kenneth Herbert Donnelly was the son of John H and Gertrude Mabel Donnelly, of Rathgar, Dublin, Irish Republic. He was commissioned in the Royal Ulster Rifles, and volunteered for airborne forces.

Major Donnelly successfully completed glider training and was posted to 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles, and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Mjr Donnelly was killed in action on 24 March 1945, aged 25, and was given a field burial at Ringenburg, Germany and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 8 April 1947.
