Corporal Kenneth F Johnson

Kenneth Frank Johnson was the son of Frank William and Gladys Johnson, of Hall Green, Birmingham, he enlisted into the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and volunteered for airborne forces.

Cpl Johnson successfully completed glider training and was posted to 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, Ox and Bucks Light Infantry and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Cpl Johnson was killed in action on 15 June 1944, aged 20, and was given a field burial at Le Mesnil and was re-interred to Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France, on 26 June 1945.
