Sergeant John A W Snushall

John Alan Wakefield Snushall was the son of Alfred and Harriet Snushall, of Parkstone, Dorset. He enlisted in the Gordon Highlanders and volunteered for airborne forces.

Sergeant Snushall successfully completed his glider pilot training and was posted to D Squadron, 1st Wing, The Glider Pilot Regiment, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Sgt Snushall was killed in action between 18 and 25 September 1944, aged 30, and was given a field burial west of Valkenburglaan, Oosterbeek. He was re-interred to Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery on 13 August 1945.
