Private John William Oliver was the son of J W and Alice Winifred Oliver, and husband of Helen Oliver. He served with 10th Parachute Battalion and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Private Oliver died on 19 September 1944, aged 25 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, near Nijmegen.
