John Silcock volunteered for 63 Coy RASC in January 1963 after completing driver training at Houndstone Camp Yeovil.
He was then posted to Bahrain with B Platoon 63 Coy RASC and attached to 3 PARA under Lt Col Anthony Farrar-Hockley until March 1965.
L/Cpl Silcock was then attached to 23 Para Field Ambulance on 11 March 1965
