Corporal John S Wilson

John Shand Wilson was the son of Angus Shand and Jessie Wilson; husband of Margaret Low Wilson, of Ladybank, Fife. He enlisted in the Royal Army Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.

Corporal Wilson successfully completed glider training and was posted to 716 (Airborne) Light Composite Company, Royal Army Service Corps and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Cpl Wilson was killed in action on 6 July 1944, aged 26, and was buried in Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
