Captain John Shewell Douglas, son of Charles Shewell Douglas and Dorothy Douglas of Harpenden, Hertfordshire served with 11th Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem during Op Market Garden.
He died on 21 September 1944, aged 23 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
