Lance Corporal John McClune served with 11th Parachute Battalion, and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden. He volunteered for the airborne forces after previously serving with The Royal Irish Fusiliers. The date of his parachute jump training is unknown.
He died on 24 September 1944, aged 25 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
