Sergeant John Hunter

Sergeant John Hunter was the son of George and Elizabeth Hunter, and husband of Lily Hunter, of Prudhoe-on-Tyne, Northumberland. He served with 1st (Airborne) Division, Border Regiment.

He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden and died on 20 September 1944, aged 30 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
