Private John G Fellows

John George Fellows was the son of John  Fellows and stepson of Julia Fellow and the husband of Vera Fellows, of Blount’s Court, Oxfordshire. He enlisted in the South Staffordshire Regiment and volunteered for Airborne forces. 

Private Fellows successfully completed his glider training and was posted to, Headquarters, 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Pte Fellows was killed in action on 19 September 1944, aged 25, and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
