Warrant Officer Class 2 John F Lonergan

Warrant Officer Class 2 John Lonergan was the Sergeant Major of the Edinburgh-based 300 Parachute Squadron RE (TA), and served in Radfan.

He was killed in a night ambush by rebel tribesmen, who attacked the camp on the night of 12 April 1965. He was the only soldier of 131 Parachute Engineer Regiment (TA) to be killed on active service.
