John 'Jack' Welch served with Airborne Forces during the Second World War with 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion.
John Ernest David Welch, commonly known as 'Jack', joined Airborne Forces from the 10th Battalion Somerset Light Infantry in late 1942, and completed Parachute Course 50 at RAF Ringway in late February 1943.
