Private John Boyd, son of John and Jean Boyd, of St Ninians, Stirling, served with 156 Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Private Boyd died on 18 September 1944, aged 19 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, near Nijmegen.
