Rifleman James Moore

24 Mar 1945

James Moore was the son of John and Annie Moore and the husband of Annie Moore, of Belfast, Northern Ireland. He enlisted in the Royal Ulster Rifles and volunteered for Airborne forces.

Rifleman Moore successfully completed glider training and was posted to 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles, and took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Rfn Moore was killed in action on 24 March 1945, aged 30, and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
