Private James A Mills

James Arthur Mills volunteered for The Parachute Regiment in 1944. Private Mills attended parachute training course number 105 at RAF Ringway between 1 - 14 March 1944. His course report stated that he 'refused on 1st A/C, has jumped very well since'.

Pte Mills was posted to 4 Platoon, B Company, 8th (Midlands) Parachute Battalion and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy on 5-6 June 1944.

Pte Mills died on 6 June 1944, aged 21 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
