Rifleman James McIlroy served with the 1st Airborne Division Royal Ulster Rifles and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy on 5-6 June 1944.
Rifleman McIlroy died on 9 June 1944, aged 30 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
