Gunner James K Hall

James Kimms Hall, son of Robert J and Annie Gabriel Hall, of Edinburgh, enlisted in the Royal Artillery and volunteered for airborne forces.

Gunner Hall successfully completed his glider training and was posted to 1st Airlanding Light Regiment, Royal Artillery, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Gnr Hall was killed in action, aged 34, on 18 September 1944 and was given a field burial in a group of graves in a field beside Klein Amerikaweg, north of Heelsum, Oosterbeek, and was re-interred to Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery on 31 October 1945.
