Private James Edward Birch, son of Joseph and Nellie Birch, of Runcorn, Cheshire, served with 3rd Parachute Battalion. He took part in the North African campaign.
Private Birch died on 27 February 1943, aged 22 years old. He is now buried at Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia.
